No frills establishment for sure. But the food was actually pretty good. Decent portions and prices.

Fantastic Mexican place in downtown New London. I get takeout often but this was my first time dining in in a while. The interior is a little tight but still has excellent vibes. I've seen live music in the past and the bar area is also very nice. Parking is pretty easy with a large lot right across the street. Service was a little slow and we asked for our appetizers (one plate of nachos and chips and guacamole) before the entrees but they ended up coming out at the same time. However, the food was fantastic, everyone's order was correct and they were happy to bring hot sauce and other things we needed. 4 people in our group of seven got the chimichangas (because they're just that good) and the sauces were tasty, the outside of the chimis were crispy and light, and the rice was super flavorful. The portions were also a good size and we had a lot of food left over.

I had takeout from here for dinner last night, and was pleasantly surprised! My burrito was huge and really good, and while I didn't even really want nachos and don't think of them as a food that packs well and tastes good once you get them home, I was definitely pleasantly surprised! These were the best nachos I remember having anytime recently so I'm glad my friend wanted them and insisted we order them and share them as our starter. They didn't skimp on the chicken and you weren't left with a giant pile of chips at the bottom that didn't have any toppings on them. They stayed pretty crispy and everything just tasted good and fresh. My leftover half burrito was still delicious for lunch today and I'd definitely go back if looking for Mexican in the New London area. I only wish I knew where to park and could have figured out how to order online rather than calling, but we figured it out and I really enjoyed the food! After all, I've found that not all Mexican restaurants even have Oaxaca and Cotija Cheese, and my burrito had both! Yum!!!

Where would you like to wait for your train in New London? Me - RIGHT HERE. Nice spot to sit and chat over really tasty Mexican food. (Huaraches, fajitas enchiladas, mole, nopales... just the goods). Some of the best table salsa I've ever had, and those chips were tortillas first. They have that crispy flaky thing going on that I love. And beyond beef and chicken - they have Carnitas! Chorizo! Linguaniza! Excellent margaritas - and generous. I recommend the tamarind myself. Also jarritos, horchata, tamarindo. And all the soups you hope for. Next time - I'm tempted to try the Cubano if I'm really hungry.

I could live on the salsa and chips here, for one thing. My husband and I stopped in for dinner before heading down the street for a new business opening. We started with a margarita apiece - his was regular and I opted for the coconut pineapple marg - phenomenal! I do always love those plastic cactus glasses too. Foodwise, I had a chicken quesadilla (it's a guilty pleasure and I'm basic) which was delicious, if a little overboard with the sour cream. Stole a bite of my husband's dish and the mole was outstanding. Service was excellent and this little spot really filled up while we were there -- it's popular for a reason!
